The Melody of My Mind

Day 02- Your Least Favorite Song

I hate everysong I have ever heard that started off “Jason Deruloooo” in a bad, auto-tune, nasally tone.  I think it’s crazy that he got a record deal.  I especially hate Flyin Solo.  I think it is the most annoyingly repetitive melody ever created.  Everytime it comes on I sing obnoxiously loud and make fun of him.  Even if my windows are down and I’m at a stop light.  I guess that means that his music does what its supposed to do, cuz it’s really freakin catchy.

Day 1- Your Favorite Song

My favorite song for the last couple years is Needtobreathe - More Time.  It is a beautiful love song that can be interpreted in so many ways that it truly moves people in any situation.  My favorite line is “I promised you the world again and everything inside my hand.”  It gives off the juxtaposition of the vastnes and impossibility of the world all the way down the scale to somethig in the palm of a single hand.  The melody carries the lyrics perfectly and there is just enough pain in the singer’s voice to lend credibility.  What an awesome song!

Dear Mr. Mayer, (or shall I say… John)

Thank you for teaching me so much about life through your music and your words.  Not just your insightful lyrics that help me cope with things that life throws at me, but also your thoughful blogs.  When I found out that you actually write them I gained so much more respect for you than I already had.  You truly are one of my biggest heroes.  I can’t wait to one day see you in concert.

It was your song, Why Georgia, that first inspired me to write, as a girl I had a crush on in high school was moving off to Georgia.  I found it easy to write and was thankful that I had found an outlet for my passions.  Everytime I’m writing a new song and I hit a trouble spot (usually in the bridge) I think about what you would put there.  Would you introduce a new idea?  Would you reiterate and old idea?  Would you find a way to tie everything together as to create a BRIDGE between the old and the new?   hahaha I try to be like you.

I guess all I’m trying to say is thank you for being such an inspiration to me and for helping me find my passion.  You are my hero.  I am your fan.

I hope you read this.

one forty plus: Simple.

I wish that when I was younger I could have met my current self. We would have sat down at a coffee shop so that I could explain life to young me in terms that only we would understand. It would have saved me a lot of hardship.

You can listen to all the sage wisdom you want, but things only make…

This man’s words inspire me.  Along with his music of course.

Fight For Fame

I want the world to remember my name.
I’m going for glory, I’ll fight for my fame.

I want the change the world, save the girl,

I want the world to never be the same.

Take Me Away

Put our minds behind us as we go forth
Carrying the words in our hearts
Our eyes come into focus, our fingers intersect
Like a thousand puzzle pieces picked apart

Our senses bind and become one
It’s time to pick your feet up off the ground and run

Take me away
We’ll take to the skies
Fly by the stars
Wave the world goodbye
There’s no need for gravity
When you can love like you and me

Every inhibition that once held us back
Now they fuel the fire that we burn
Our eyes are on each other
The world falls out of sight
We slowly start to feel the planet turn

Take me away
Take to the skies
Fly by the stars
Wave the world goodbye
There’s no need for gravity when you can love like you and me

Take Me Away
